Week of September 4

Happy Labor Day! There’s a lot going on in class this week. This week’s newsletter also includes information about the Gothic Novel unit.

General School Announcements

  • Student Council Intent-to-Run forms are due by September 8. Forms are available on the wall outside room 30. Elections will be held September 13.

Pre-AP Agenda & Information

Students must select and procure a copy of their Gothic novel ASAP (if not already done). Once you have selected your novel, please be sure to let me know (survey is in Google Classroom). For information about the novel unit, please click here: Gothic Novel Overview

  • Monday – No School
  • Tuesday – Distribute novel overviews, review contents of packet. Sports/Fitness interview (Allen Iverson)
  • Wednesday – Read in text – “The Silent Season of a Hero”
  • Thursday – SUBSTITUTE – complete CERT assessment
  • Friday – Vocabulary quiz, read Teddy Roosevelt (p. 449); Students may retake grammar tests today if necessary
