Study Apps for the ACT/SAT

Several parents and students have contacted me requesting recommendations for apps and websites to study for the ACT and SAT. It’s been awhile since I’ve taken either, so I’m relying on the recommendations of others to bring you this list. As I try them myself, I’ll update this post with specific ratings. • Khan Academy – I think a natural first app to try is the Khan Academy app, since it can be used to study so much more than ACT or SAT. freeclick here for link
  • Magoosh ACT Flashcards – review the science, math, and English sections with these free flashcards. – click here for link
  • Daily Practice for the New SAT – this app is directly from the College Board. I did notice some low reviews, but I’m going to give this one the benefit of the doubt. Also free. – click here for link
  • The Grading Game – I’m intrigued by this one! Race against the clock to identify errors in the passages. This is good practice for the ACT English section (and your EOC!). Here’s the link to the free version.
  • Math Brain Booster – I know I’m an English teacher, but I also understand that your math score is important. 🙂 Here’s a link to a free math app.
